Hello everyone! Here we have a very cool
Rocky Strat for a very low starting bid! The artwork on the Fender Squier
Stratocaster is completely hand painted and clear coated. I've seen other versions on
ebay, but none of those use the right colors or nail the tiny details
like this guitar does. Due to everything involved in the guitars
design, many hours went into this classic instrument. This guitar is sure to get a lot of
attention and would be great for a true fan. Shipping is $30 in the
U.S (The guitar pictured is not the one you will receive, but yours
will look just like it! Rest assured we've painted a few hundred of these for collectors all over the world, and it always comes out looking great! ) Thanks for looking and good luck. GO TO www.BURGERGUITARS.com FOR A VIDEO DEMONSTRATION OF ROCKY and For other cool hand painted guitars (classic and original)! MEXICAN or AMERICAN VERSIONS ALSO AVAILABLE!
Grazie. This auction is for a 1983/84 build Fender Japan Squier Stratocaster SST314H-55 with JV (Japan Vintage) serial and with Les Paul Scale 629mm/24.75 in.

This is very rare guitar with Les Paul scale/629mm/24.75 in. "314" of this model name stands for 314mm which is half of 628(9)mm / 24.75 in of Les Paul scale.
Here in Japan,
Fender regular scale is called "long scale"
Les Paul scale / 628(9)mm, 24.75 in is called "medium scale" or sometimes called "314 scale"
Fender Mustang scale / 610mm, 24 in is called "short scale" or sometimes called "305 scale"

In 1983, Fender Japan issued Squier SST-314 which had medium scale/629mm /24.75 in like Les Paul has.
First,
Fender USA didn't accept that Fender Japan would sell the model with
Fender brand, so they used Squier logo for the model. In 1985, Fender USA
permitted using Fender's brand for the model, but the body material was
shifted from Alder/Ash to Basswood/Sen. Then a few years later the model were shifted to "STM" with smaller body.

      I
have often tried later models but they had different sounds from
regular Strats unlike this guitar due to the difference of the body
material.

This guitar is one of The "Squier Contemporary" models with JV serial /series made between 1982 and 1984 by Fujigen.

This one has Squier logo, not Fender logo but Fender Japan made the Les Paul scale guitar only with Squier logo in the earliest days of Fender Japan with JV serial.

In 1982, "Squier" brand was introduced firstly to Europe as less expensive Fender guitars. These "Squier" brand guitars were made in Japan by Fender Japan /Fujigen.
Right after introduced in European market, "Squier" were made for Japanese market too. They had two lines; vintage types and "Contemporary" models.
The former line's guitars were as less expensive based on the Fender Japan vintage models with less expensive parts, but the latter ones were not less expensive models and some of them had higher prices than "Fender" (Japan) models.

For your information, the "Fender Contemporary" models were the first Fender Japan models to be exported officially as Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters, but in JV era (1982-1984), they were sold as Squier only in the domestic market.
According to some information, these " Contemporary" models were produced till 1987.

According to the catalogs during the time, this one is SST314H-55 with Alder body and one piece maple neck, rosewood fretboards.
http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1983/en_05.html

This model is not shown in the 85's catalog, so is believed to be made only in JV era.

Both Fender and Squier models with JV serial / series were only made from about mid 1982 thru 1984.
http://reviews.ebay.com/Understanding-Fender-Japan-Guitar-Serial-Number-s_W0QQugidZ10000000002545975

Fender Japan has been making some Les Paul scales on and off since they started to manufacture their guitars and basses in the mid 80's, but the most of the later models have smaller bodies contrary to this model with regular sized body.

This one has an "END ROX" bridge which locks the strings into place with Allen Wrench/Hex Key tightened HEX screws. These are situated on the underside of the bridge's tremolo block. This means the guitar is strung much like a Floyd Rose, however the strings pass through the bridge & tremolo block and are locked in place by winding around the posts of 6 hex screws (much like how one would tighten a wire in an electrical socket). If you don't need to lock the strings you can string the guitar in the usual manner.

These Japan built Squier models are not made anymore. Current Squier models made in China and Indonesia & elsewhere which may seem to be of lesser quality.)

A while back I had a chance to play a used Fender Japan Stratocaster. I was not familiar with Fender Japan models at the time but after this encounter I began to take an interest in Fender Japan guitars. I was surprised with the quality of the guitar but what impressed me most was its sound. It had bright sound and the higher range was very sharp but not harsh to the ear. I couldn't stop playing the guitar. I knew Fender Japan models of the JV era were appreciated but I thought they were overestimated until I purchased one not long ago for me to try it out.
Since then I tried a lot of both Fender Japan and Squier models made in and around the JV era and it has made me appreciate them as so many others do. Anyway the guitar is my favorite now! The Squier brand was Fenders second line with lower prices so they had more budget parts but the build qualities and the materials used were excellent.
My JV Stratocaster is not Fender but a Squier with all original budget parts but I really like the sound!!
I have read many websites written in English and in Japanese, but I could not find the answers to the following questions:
*difference of the spec between Squier export model and Squier Domestic model.
*difference of the wood material between Squier and Fender

If you would like further information about Fender & Squier made in and around the JV era please see the following websiteshttp://www.peerlesstone.com/node/57
http://www.21frets.com/squier_jv/jv_quick_guide.htm
http://www.fender.com/support/japanese_instruments.php
http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1983/en_01.html SpecsWeight: approx 3.66 Kg / 8.07 lb
Neck profile: U shapeBody: AlderNeck: Maple + RosewoodNeck width at nut: 41.5 mm / 1.63 inFretboard radius: 12" **The specs above are extracted from the catalog or are based on my research, so they could be misinformed or mistaken. If you don't accept all of them then please do not bid or purchase. Condition of the item:
Almost all of the items in my store are not a brand new, but a used one, so they wont always be in "PERFECT" condition. This can be especially true of "VINTAGE" guitars/basses that have had many years of use and because of this they can sometimes have issues with playability, so for many reasons they may need care and maintenance before reaching an optimal playing condition. Please read the following detailed information that should always be considered when buying a used guitar/basses . *NeckNowadays a lot of guitar/basses players know the term "JV" (Japan Vintage) and that the values of guitars/basses made in and around the JV era are getting higher. I am glad and proud as a Japanese person that these guitars/basses were made by expert craftsmen with selected materials and I totally agree with the reputation that these guitars/basses have earned. However, in Japan, there is a significant humidity difference through the year which can have a bad influence on the materials in guitars/basses if they are not well kept & carefully maintained. Additionally these guitars/basses were often purchased by beginners or students and can tend to be poorly treated without ever having any maintenance. Sometimes they are stored away for ages after a very short period of use, as a result it is often the case that they have issue's about the neck. I have played guitar for many years and all the guitars/basses in my store were listed only after I checked & played them personally. All of the guitars/basses in my store passed the normal standards/my standards unless particularly stated otherwise.
However that does not mean "perfect" condition as most guitars/basses in the world have some issue be it a scratch or a break. Additionally, the pressure change, humidity change and change in temperature have a bad influence on the guitars/basses during the shipping or after arriving in your country so they may need some adjustment before playing. *FretsAs the guitars/basses are used the frets are worn more or less. I cannot say 70% or 80% left or something like that,,,,,because who can count the degree in a precise way? So please check the degree by the pictures. If the guitar needs refreting or if there is any defect with the frets (judging by my standards) it will be stated in the description.
*(Fret /String) BuzzI check the Fret (String) Buzz by picking normally, adjusting the bottom string height (E) to 2.80 mm and the top string height (G) to 2.3 mm
The bass are used, so slight buzz could occur. If the fret buzz of the guitar is above the normal standard, the detail is described in the description of the guitar.
Anyway, how you feel the fret buzz depends on the player, so any requests to settle repair fee is not accepted. *Cosmetic conditionAs the guitars/basses are used, they might have a number of dents, scratches, blemishes, chips and so on. Unless they are in mint or near mint condition, you cannot describe all of them, so please judge the condition by the pictures. *Electrical partsALL the electrical parts work fine unless there is a particular fault in which case it will be mentioned in the description, but they might have a slight scratchy sound. *Tax and dutiesAs stated above, the auction winner or the buyer is responsible for any and all applicable taxes and duties levied by their government.
Before placing a bid or clicking "Buy it now" button, please enquire with your local customs for detailed information.
*ReturnPlease check the guitar within two days of it being delivered to you.
If it differs significantly from the description I will accept the return.
Payment made for returned goods and the outward shipping fee you paid will be refunded to you within three business days after the guitar is returned and checked by me on received. Please note that any return freight charges, taxes &/or duties you pay for returning an item are not settled. *Insurance for transportationThe insurance of EMS would cover any damage, loss or the robbery/theft of an item during transportation.
The EMS insurance reimbursements might take more than a month to process.
++My Attitude toward business transactionsAs a seller, I do not want to disappoint any buyers when they receiving an item and check it. *Other conditionIf you are new to eBay and have zero feedback or have negative feedback, please contact me before bidding and provide me with your name and your email address for PayPal or your bid will be withdrawn.

DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT SHIPPING*To Asia (First Zone) ..............US$118such as China (People's Rep.), Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea (Rep.), Malaysia, Saipan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and so on.
*To North America/Central America (Second Zone)..........US$146such as United States, Canada, Mexico and so on. *To Oceania (Second Zone).........US$146such as Australia, New Zealand and so on. *To Middle East (Second Zone) ..........US$146such as United Arab Emirates, Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, Cyprus, Jordan, Kuwait and so on. *To Europe (Second Zone)..........US$162such as Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom and so on. *To South America (Third Zone)..........US$248such as Brazil, Chile and so on.
The fees above are by EMS (Express Mail Service) via Japan Post Office from Japan.
EMS is the cheapest, safest and fastest of all safe shipping methods from Japan
*It will takes 3 to 6 days from JAPAN to USA, CANADA, ASIA, and 5 to 10 days to AUSTRALIA and EUROPE.
*You can check the status via Track & Trace (The EMS Tracking Service)

*Insurance and the handling charge are included in the shipping fee.

*Some countries and some regions are not covered by EMS.

!!!IMPORTANT!!!
++TERMS/CONDITION OF    ITEM++
Please read the following items before bidding or purchasing.

Parlo io italiano (ma non molto bene), quindi provo di risponderti nella lingua vostra/ in italiano!! Grazie.
This auction is for a 1983/84 build Fender Japan Squier Stratocaster with JV (Japan Vintage) serial.

It looks barely used and is in rare color (probably Pearl White)
Both Fender and Squier JV models were only made from about mid 1982 thru 1984. 1984.http://reviews.ebay.com/Understanding-Fender-Japan-Guitar-Serial-Number-s_W0QQugidZ10000000002545975
In 1982 Fender introduced their budget "Squier" brand to Europe. These Squier export guitars were based on the Fender Japan models (which at that time were only sold in Japan).

Shortly after their introduction to the European export market "Squier" was also introduced to the Japanese domestic market. This guitar is one of such domestic models, a Japanese market Squier.

In Europe Squier "export" models with JV serial are highly appreciated, but that is about export models.
The Domestic Japanese Squier models might not "exactly" the same as as European export Squier models, so the installed parts might be different and the domestic Japanese Squier models were the second line of Fender guitars in Japan, so people might feel the domestic Japanese models were lower quality guitars than the export Squier's.

For these people I would like to emphasize that they were made in the same factory ("Fujigen") as the main "Fender" Brand & the "Squier" "export" brand by the same skilled craftsmen and the quality of the guitars, wood materials & build accuracy and so on look about same though they used less expensive parts like pickups, bridges, tuners and so on.
I think the difference between Squire's domestic & export models and Fender Japan middle ranged models in the era is not so great.

These Japan built Squier models are not made anymore. So please check the degree by the pictures. If the guitar needs refreting or if there is any defect with the frets (judging by my standards) it will be stated in the description.
*(Fret /String) BuzzI check the Fret (String) Buzz by picking normally with light gauge strings (009-046), adjusting the bottom string height (low E) to 2.00mm and the top string height (high E) to 1.7mm
The guitars are used, so slight buzz could occur. If the fret buzz of the guitar is above the normal standard, the detail is described in the description of the guitar.
Anyway, how you feel the fret buzz depends on the player, so any requests to settle repair fee is not accepted. *Cosmetic conditionAs the guitars are used, they might have a number of dents, scratches, blemishes, chips and so on.

DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT SHIPPING*To Asia (First Zone) ..............US$118 such as China (People's Rep.), Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea (Rep.), Malaysia, Saipan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and so on.
*To North America/Central America (Second Zone)..........US$146 such as United States, Canada, Mexico and so on. *To Oceania (Second Zone).........US$146 such as Australia, New Zealand and so on. *To Middle East (Second Zone) ..........US$146 such as United Arab Emirates, Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, Cyprus, Jordan, Kuwait and so on. *To Europe (Second Zone)..........US$162 such as Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom and so on. *To South America (Third Zone)..........US$248 such as Brazil, Chile and so on.

Current Squier models made in China and Indonesia & elsewhere which may seem to be of lesser quality.)

The 1983 Fender Japan catalog;http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1983/en_01.html

If you would like further information about Fender & Squier made in and around the JV era please see the following swebsiteshttp://www.peerlesstone.com/node/57
http://www.21frets.com/squier_jv/jv_quick_guide.htm
http://www.fender.com/support/japanese_instruments.php
http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1983/en_01.html

Specs
Body: alder
Neck: maple + rosewood
Neck width at nut: 43 mm / 1.69 in
Weight: approx 3.6 KG/ 7.94 lb
Neck profile: U shape

**The specs above are extracted from the catalog or are based on my research, so they could be misinformed or mistaken. The weight and the neck width are based on actual measurement.**I am not the original owner so I cannot say whether this item has all original parts or whether the item is modified, so please judge them by the pictures above.
**If you need any other pictures, please do not hesitate to contact me with your email address.

The guitar sounds resonant with the twang and spanky sound as a vintage guitar. In my experience, it has the ideal weight for Stratocaster with vintage specs. It has bright sound and the higher range is very sharp but not harsh to the ear.

Condition of the item**Please refer to the photos above & "++TERMS/CONDITION OF ITEM++" regarding guitar condition.
The neck looks straight and the truss rod works fine.
Tuners work fine and the electrics are good.
The fretboard is very smooth and fine, and the frets show minimal wear for its age. There are only a few minor dents as you can see in the photos above.
**Before listing on eBay, I cleaned it up and set it up as far as possible.*
AccessoriesNo acceccories included.
*If you pay the additinal shipping fee, a used soft gig bag will be included. Please contact me for the detailed information.
(The gig bag is free, but the shipping fee will be higer because the weight of the parcel is heavier.) **Please read the "++TERMS/CONDITION OF ITEM++" section below for full details of the items grade or condition before placing a bid or clicking "By it now" button!!, Thank You.
Tax and Duties:* International Buyers Please Note:
Before placing a bid or clicking the "Buy it now" button PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW:
* Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price. These charges are the buyers responsibility.
** The auction winner/buyer is responsible for ALL and ANY applicable taxes and duties levied by their government.
*** please enquire with your local customs or post office for detailed information regarding your countries import duties to determine what these additional costs may be prior to bidding/buying because I cant be responsible for these charges as I'm sure you can appreciate.
  Payment:Only PayPal is accepted.
The auction winner must pay the winning bid and the shipping fee.
The payment must be made within 4 days after the end of the auction. Packaging:The guitar will be packed with great care in bubble wrap and posted in a thick cardboard box for the safest shipping. (The pictures below shows how a guitar including a gig bag is wrapped. ) Shipping:* I ship during Japanese business hours (Monday - Friday except on Japanese holidays) by EMS with full insurance) Asia...US$118 North America/Central America (Second Zone)..........US$146 Oceania (Second Zone).........US$146 Middle East (Second Zone) ..........US$146 Europe (Second Zone)..........US$162 South America (Third Zone)..........US$248 **Please see the section "++DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT SHIPPING++" at the end of the page**

!!!IMPORTANT!!!
++TERMS/CONDITION  OF ITEM++
Please read the following items before bidding or purchasing. If you don't accept all of them then please do not bid or purchase. Condition of the guitar:
Almost all of the guitars in my store are not a brand new, but a used one, so they wont always be in "PERFECT" condition. This can be especially true of "VINTAGE" guitars that have had many years of use and because of this they can sometimes have issues with playability, so for many reasons they may need care and maintenance before reaching an optimal playing condition. Please read the following detailed information that should always be considered when buying a used guitar. *NeckNowadays a lot of guitar players know the term "JV" (Japan Vintage) and that the values of guitars made in and around the JV era are getting higher. I am glad and proud as a Japanese person that these guitars were made by expert craftsmen with selected materials and I totally agree with the reputation that these guitars have earned. However, in Japan, there is a significant humidity difference through the year which can have a bad influence on the materials in guitars if they are not well kept & carefully maintained. Additionally these guitars were often purchased by beginners or students and can tend to be poorly treated without ever having any maintenance. Sometimes they are stored away for ages after a very short period of use, as a result it is often the case that they have issue's about the neck. I have played guitar for many years and all the guitars in my store were listed only after I checked & played them personally. All of the guitars in my store passed the normal standards/my standards unless particularly stated otherwise.
However that does not mean "perfect" condition as most guitars in the world have some issue be it a scratch or a break. Additionally, the pressure change, humidity change and change in temperature have a bad influence on the guitars during the shipping or after arriving in your country so they may need some adjustment before playing. *FretsAs the guitars are used the frets are worn more or less. I cannot say 70% or 80% left or something like that,,,,,because who can count the degree in a precise way? So please check the degree by the pictures. If the guitar needs refreting or if there is any defect with the frets (judging by my standards) it will be stated in the description.

Parlo io italiano (ma non molto bene), quindi provo di risponderti nella lingua vostra/ in italiano!! Grazie.

This auction is for a 1983/84 build Squier/Fender Japan Contemporary series Stratocaster with JV (Japan Vintage) serial.

Both Fender and Squier JV models were only made from about mid 1982 thru 1984.http://reviews.ebay.com/Understanding-Fender-Japan-Guitar-Serial-Number-s_W0QQugidZ10000000002545975

According to the catalogues during the time, this one is an ST-552 with Alder body and one piece maple neck + rosewood fretboards.
http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1983/en_01.html

This guitar is one of The "Squier Contemporary" models with JV serial /series made between 1982 and 1984 by Fujigen.
This guitar looks barely used and the fretboards shows minimal wear.

Current Squier models made in China and Indonesia & elsewhere which may seem to be of lesser quality.) A while back I had a chance to play a used Fender Japan Stratocaster.

If you would like further information about Fender & Squier made in and around the JV era please see the following websiteshttp://www.peerlesstone.com/node/57
http://www.21frets.com/squier_jv/jv_quick_guide.htm
http://www.fender.com/support/japanese_instruments.php
http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1983/en_01.html Specs
Body: Alder
Neck: maple + rosewood
Neck width at nut: 40 mm / 1.575 in
Weight: approx 3.1 KG/ 6.83 lb
Neck profile: U shapeColor: Blue Grey Metallic**The specs above are extracted from the catalog or are based on my research, so they could be misinformed or mistaken.

It doesn't have a fat sound as you can imagine by the weight.
The fretboard is very smooth and fine, and the frets show minimal wear.
There only some minor scratches, blemishes and so on, but most of them are on the side & the back of the body, so the front of the body, the neck and the headstock are very clean.

**Before listing on eBay, I cleaned it up and set it up as far as possible.*
AccessoriesNo accessories are included.
*If you pay the additional shipping fee, a used non-original soft gig bag will be provided.
DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT SHIPPING*To Asia (First Zone) ..............US$111such as China (People's Rep.), Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea (Rep.), Malaysia, Saipan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and so on.
*To North America/Central America (Second Zone)..........US$137such as United States, Canada, Mexico and so on. *To Oceania (Second Zone).........US$137such as Australia, New Zealand and so on. *To Middle East (Second Zone) ..........US$137such as United Arab Emirates, Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, Cyprus, Jordan, Kuwait and so on. *To Europe (Second Zone)..........US$152such as Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom and so on. *To South America (Third Zone)..........US$228such as Brazil, Chile and so on.

If you would like further information about Fender & Squier made in and around the JV era please see the following websiteshttp://www.peerlesstone.com/node/57
http://www.21frets.com/squier_jv/jv_quick_guide.htm
http://www.fender.com/support/japanese_instruments.php
http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1983/en_01.html Specs

It doesn't have a fat sound as you can imagine by the weight.

The fretboard is very smooth and fine, and the frets show minimal wear.
There only some minor scratches, blemishes and so on, but most of them are on the side & the back of the body, so the front of the body, the neck and the headstock are very clean.

I've had this guitar awhile now and it plays and sounds really nice, but I want a new Blacktop Jag so I have to sell some gear. I will include a nice Fender Gig Bag with purchase. It will be shipped in a proper guitar shipping box with inner and outer boxes. It is used and is being sold as is with no returns. It seems to be in good shape. Beautiful 3 color sunburst paint and rosewood neck. The following is from the Squier site:

The Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60s is a rough-and-tumble electric guitar ready for almost any musical situation. With an alder body; rosewood fingerboard; 21-fret, vintage-tint gloss maple neck, this Strat definitely has that '60s vibe but with the modern playability of a 9-1/2" neck radius and medium-jumbo frets. This Squier Strat's tone is thick with a custom set of Alnico V single-coil pickups—a quick attack with a bit more midrange oomph and a bridge pickup that packs a knockout punch! Custom stagger pole pieces provide improved string-to-string balance.

-Product features-
